You don't need me to remind you that Modern Warfare nailed Call of Duty to the mainstream consciousness like an interactive torture scene. It's exactly the same as it was back in the day before I had children and my wife didn't have to pretend she still loved me. I am in no way influenced by rose-tinted night vision goggles. I've been playing it this past week because I'm a spoilt games journalist and it's great. We're spoilt so quickly and distracted by the shiny new thing and I'm beginning to think that's a good thing."Ĭall of Duty: Modern Warfare is back, remastered and looking rather lovely. It is fun for them and their friends."What if remasters of older games are just like backwards compatibility - everyone asks for it but when it comes down to it no one actually plays it. I highly recommend that you give your 13 year old child a go on this game. I disagree with the parents who give this game to their 10 year old kids. When my 12 year old daughter turns 13, she gets my permission to play. Not much cursing at all if you ask me.ĭue to the constant violence and one graphic scene that any kid could handle, I gave this game a recommended age of 13 years old. There is also no cursing of any kind in multiplayer. F-k is used a total of 4 times through out 10 hours of the campaign. It is not often that you will hear a minor curse word. The rest of the campaign is done shooting other enemies whose bodies and blood will disappear after a short time. There is a decent amount of blood, but this only lasts a split second. When an earthquake happens, the main bad guy gets his arm blown off by your bullet after a failed attempt on trying to kill him. Yet, there is one part in the story mode that will show gore. There is also no gore of any kind, even in explosions. However, in multiplayer, the blood from headshots is toned down and will show the same amount of blood as bodyshots would. Hits will show little to no blood and one of the only times I saw more blood than usual was when an enemy was hit in the head. No, the game is way toned down from those titles. The game will feature constant violence because this is a first person shooter, but it is not as bad as Fallout 3 or Bioshock. Violence is the only major factor in this game. But what about my 12 year old or my 9 year old? Surely they cannot play it, right? That question will be answered in this review. sometimes it’s just based on your child’s maturity levelĬall of Duty is a really cool game with over the top violence as my oldest daughter calls it. Thank you for reading my review and I hoped it helped.Īlso one more thing. Halo and someone swear, this games is totally fine! When it’s really not! If your kids have seen. Also commen sense Media over exaggerates everything. Also the only type of “drug use” I saw was one of the army guys smoking a cigar. I had to record the game and slow it down frame by frame to see the blood! Also a lot of other kids age 10 to 11+ play this game. Also if your kids play halo this is totally fine! In fact I would say that halo is more violent than this game! Also the graphics aren’t the best so the blood is not noticeable at all. But if you are really worried about swearing, just turn down the volume. And by then (if you have an older brother or sister) you have probably heard all the swear words and stuff.
